New Years Eve in Rio to salute Iemanjá “The Black Goddess of the Ocean”- December 25,2015- January 4,2016

Day by Day Itinerary

  Friday December 25th  – Group leaves the US

Saturday, December 26th – Group arrives in Rio

  •    Transfer airport hotel in Copacabana Beach

  .     Free day to settle in , lunch on own

Rio by Night:  Orientation, dinner reception at a “Carioca” style  restaurant and dancing to live music of different Black Brazilian rhythms 

Time: 8 P.M.

Duration: 4-5 hours

    Sunday, December 27th – Visit Arts & Crafts Fair and Lunch at favela (community based organization working with the black local population)

Time: noon

Duration: 6 hours

By Night:   Bossa Nova Show and dinner

Time: 9 P.M.

Wednesday, December 30th. – Walking tour of the neighborhoods of Santa Teresa, Lapa, Colorful Steps, Cinelândia and lunch at “Carioca” style restaurant.  Meeting with a local leader of Black community

Time: 10 A.M.

Duration: 5 hours

Thursday, December 31st- free day to relax and enjoy the beach

Rio by night; New Year’s Party – All dressed in white to salute Iemanjá ” The Goddess of the Ocean” and dinner.

Friday, January 1st – Free day to rest and relax on the beach

Rio by  Night: to be announced

Saturday, January 2nd- Free day to relax on the beach or last minute shopping.  Leave to the airport early evening.

Sunday, January 3Rd – Group arrives in the US

A visa is necessary to all travelers using an American passport to enter  Brazil

  Saturday, January 30th –  African-Brazilian tour of historical Salvador, meeting with a leader of local Black community and lunch at typical Bahian restaurant
